About this policy

TimberHaus (ABN 80 655 964 515) designs, builds and installs custom saunas and wellness spaces from our workshop at 35 Five Islands Rd, Port Kembla NSW 2505. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean TimberHaus.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information. It applies when you visit timberhaus.au, contact us, fill in a form (including forms on Facebook and Instagram), or become a client.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect and how

We only collect information we need to respond to you, quote and deliver your project, and run our business.

Information you give us through our website, email, phone, social media, or lead forms on Facebook and Instagram:

Name, email address, phone number and suburb or address
Project details such as sauna type, size, location, timeline, budget, plans and photos
Builder, architect or designer details you share with us
Billing and payment details needed to invoice you

Information collected automatically when you visit our website or interact with our ads, such as your device, browser, pages viewed and how you reached us. This is collected through cookies and similar tools (see Cookies below).

Information from others, such as a builder, architect, designer or supplier who refers you to us.

You can contact us without giving your name, but we may not be able to quote or build without your details.

How we use and share it

We use your information to:

Respond to your enquiry and follow up
Prepare estimates, quotes and designs
Plan, build, install and support your project
Invoice you and manage payments
Send project updates, and marketing if you have not opted out
Improve our website, advertising and services

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to do the above, with:

Trades and contractors working on your project, such as electricians and glaziers
Suppliers, when ordering equipment or materials for your project
Your builder, architect or designer, where you have asked us to work with them
Service providers that run our business systems, such as website hosting, email, CRM, accounting and advertising platforms (including Meta)
Anyone we are required to share it with by law

Overseas storage. Some of these service providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.

Marketing, cookies and security

Marketing. We may send you sauna tips, project news or offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to stop at any time.

Cookies and advertising. Our website and ads may use cookies and tools from providers such as Google and Meta. These help us understand how people use our site and show our ads to people likely to be interested. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and adjust ad preferences in your Google, Facebook and Instagram account settings.

Security. We store information in secure, password-protected systems and limit access to people who need it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

How long we keep it. We keep information for as long as we need it for your project, warranty, legal and tax obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights and contacting us

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot meet a request, for example because we must keep invoice records by law, we will explain why.

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us first and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
