The brief for Russell Lea was to create a sauna that felt open, bright and easy to live with something the whole family could enjoy regularly. Working within an awkward footprint, the design makes clever use of a mirror layout across the duplex to visually expand the room and reflect light throughout the space. The result is a sauna that feels far larger than its physical footprint, creating a calm, airy environment that invites people to slow down and stay awhile. Rather than feeling tucked away, the sauna becomes a thoughtful extension of the home’s living spaces.
Natural aspen timber lines the interior, bringing a soft, light tone that reinforces the room’s bright European aesthetic. Aspen is prized in sauna design for its smooth finish, low resin content and comfortable feel under heat. As with all of our builds, materials are carefully sourced and selected for performance, longevity and responsible production. Premium European components ensure reliability while maintaining a refined finish throughout the space. The sauna also integrates modern functionality, including IP65-rated dimmable LED lighting, built-in Bluetooth sound and a WiFi-controlled heater for simple operation.
